The beautifully restored Thistle Inn offers a variety of rooms to cater for private dining.

We have a choice of three set menus and a celebration menu to choose from. Please click here to view. We also have a lunch set menu available on request. (min.12 people required)

 THE PArlour Room - LOCATED JUST OFF THE MAIN BAR ON GROUND LEVEL

Located just off the main bar, pictured above. The historic Dining Room offers a traditional feel with the original earthy Thistle green colour, surrounded by historic photos of the Wellington region's historic hotels and the famous poem written by Katherine Mansfield about one of her experiences at the Thistle in the early 1900s.

GEORGES ROOM - located upstairs on first floor

Located upstairs where the hotels rooms used to be at full capacity. A lovely, light and airy room offering an intimate dining experience.

KATHERINE MANSFIELD ROOM - LOCATED UPSTAIRS ON FIRST FLOOR

A gracious room located on the corner of the building, loads of natural light and original wooden floors. A quiet space tucked away from the rest of the building offering a relaxed and inviting space for dinner.

RECENT REVIEWS

- Food was delicious – I do want to acknowledge that the large number of people did slow down the service, BUT, each dish that came out was of a very high standard, presented beautifully, and hugest compliments to the chef and their team for providing quality dishes for the number of people being catered for. Many compliments mainly on the Lamb and Fish dishes that were offered in the set menu, but I found all 3 dishes really tasty and the portions extremely generous.Service was excellent, and our thanks to the staff that represented your FOH.  Great communication from the team throughout the evening, and given there were a few people looking after different areas of the evening, they were happy to engage with our different people as needed, and ensured the information being passed on was clear and concise. We were very well taken care of! Facilities and property were very clean, and I think it’s important to note that they were kept clean throughout the duration of our time there. Often the shared areas can get quite messy, but your staff did an outstanding job in ensuring your venue was in top condition. - AUGUST 2023

I booked out the marquee area for a 21st celebration with my family, and what a perfect night! Honestly can't thank the Thistle Inn team enough, it was the most stunning venue and every part of the planning process and the actual party was made so easy. Jess (the functions manager) is so onto it and so accommodating with planning and requests. And we were so well looked after by the very attentive and helpful team on the night. Everyone was raving about the delicious food, gorgeous space and excellent staff, and we all had the best night. I would highly recommend the Thistle Inn for any of your events, they have several beautiful spaces available for private functions and meetings (have a look at the virtual tour on their website!) and we were so impressed with everything. - SEPTEMBER 2023
